Special Shipibo Pottery

At the considerable risk of oversimplification, there are generally two categories of Shipibo pots: "Tourist" and "Museum" quality. "Tourist" quality are those pots made specifically for the purpose of selling to the trade. They are characterized by "like new" finish as opposed to the Museum quality, which are those pots which have been actually used by the Shipibo Indians in their daily life. Understandability, these usually show the wear and tear of normal usage and are limited in quantity.
